Hong Kong escalator rage caused by two mechanics

This happened in Hong Kong shopping mall where two men alleged to be mechanics were arrested after an escalator filled with people suddenly switched it's direction from up to down.
According to the police eighteen people were injured, when the machine which must have been tampered after the previous night at the Mong Kok's Langham mall by the two men aged 22 and 52, the machine suddenly went into reverse thereby causing injuries to shoppers on spot and most of them tumbling down on one another. According to the CCTV one man had a serious head injury and was in a terrible state.

The two mechanics was later arrested and pressed charges for obstruction of justice, although recently they have both been released on bail but has been ordered to report back in mid April.

In a statement by Lan Fok one of the spokesman for the Otis Elevator Company that employed the alleged two men, "The police arresting our mechanics was really a suprise.",
"Our legal team is working with the law enforcement to defend our men."
