10 Year-Old Boy Mistakenly Shot Brother With A Gun During A Game Of Cops

This is a case of a 10-year-old boy who accidentally shot and killed his brother during their favorite game of 'cops and robbers' when he pointed a rifle he didn't know was already loaded with bullet. 

The incident happened on Tuesday early August in Loganville at Wisconsin's Sauk County. The sheriff's office gave their statement that the alleged boy was playing with his 14-year-old brother and another kid. As they were toying with a rifle that had the magazine removed but, unknown to the little boy, the gun still had a bullet in the chamber so he pulled the trigger, the bullet struck his older brother in the chest. He died instantly.

According to the Reedburg Times-Press, the three children lived at the home, the father owned the gun and it was accessible, the newspaper said.
Meanwhile, Authorities said the incident is still under investigation and no one has been arrested yet.
A to a research study published in the journal Pediatrics showed that nearly 1,300 children died annually from gun-related injuries in the US, which looked at deaths from 2012 to 2014. Boys account for 82% of all child firearm deaths, the study found. 

Doctors also highlighted that there are ways available to safely ways to secure and store firearms away from children especially at home, and they suggested that parents employ those methods when securing guns in the home whether you have kids around the house or not.
