Northwest ISD School Bus No. 619 Collides With A Truck; 12 Students Injured
This Tuesday Morning, a Northwest ISD bus,
No. 619, was hit by another vehicle this morning at Alta Vista Road and S.H.
170. The bus accidentally collided with a pickup truck in north Fort Worth and two Northwest Independent School District students were seriously injured.
According to the Police officials, the crash took place near the intersection of Alliance Gateway Freeway and Alta Vista Road shortly after 8 a.m this morning.
The school district spokeswoman Emily Conklin said that there were 39 students and a driver on board making it 40 individuals inside the bus number 619 at the time of the crash, and about 10 to 12 students were being examined for minor injuries.
“In fact more two students have been taken to a hospital with undisclosed injuries”. She added
But apart from the few wounded none of the other students required hospitalization and so they were either released to their parents or driven to school on a different bus.
The alleged school bus was en route to Byron Nelson High School, with some students heading to Steel Accelerated High School, Conklin said.
Meanwhile, the names of all students on the bus were recorded, and those names were used to contact parents and guardians the District officials would be contacting their parents with further details .
