Monica Puig's Message of Hope to her Hometown Puerto Rico

Do you Remember Monica Puig , the tennis Star from Puerto Rico. Back in 2016 when she traveled back to her Home Town as thousands gathered to welcome her Glorious return as the first Nation's ever Olympic champion..
A year on, destroyed by one of the biggest storms to hit the island, at least one person has been reported dead and the country's entire power supply has been destructed thereby leaving millions of people in darkness for months.

Puig is a popular tennis player who was born and brought up in San Juan, the capital city. She was so touched by the Hurricane disaster.
"Puerto Rico is my lovely home and to see what's going on there truly breaks my heart," a tearful Puig told CNN Sport, At the end of the day, like I've been telling my family and telling everyone, tennis is so small and life is so precious.

"I can say that 100% of my heart is with Puerto Rico and I really wish that they come back bigger and stronger”
Meanwhile she introduced a fundraising campaign called Help Rebuild Puerto Rico – and it has already exceeded its initial $25,000 target.

"It doesn't matter what I'm doing here out on the court. Sure, it's important to me because it's my career. But there's a big picture and there's so many people going through so much more than just winning or losing a tennis match. she added.
