Pastor Joel Osteen slammed for closing his mega church for Hurricane Victims



 Pastor Joel Osteen have finally responded after the he was slammed on social media for not opening his mega church door wide for victims of Hurricane Harvey who have been stranded and needed shelter. Unlike the other churches in Houston which were not affected by the Harvey opened their churches and was accommodating people affected by the heavy incident which have destroyed many properties and life, leaving thousands of people homeless and stranded.
Meanwhile, Joel Osteen the lead pastor of Lakewood Church which can accommodate about 16,800-people replied in a statement issued late on Monday that the church had “never closed our doors.”

After he had been heavily criticized on social media he finally released a statement that the church have remained open and anyone can come in for shelter anytime.
According to him, he released the picture above, claiming that the mega church was previously flooded and couldn't be used as a shelter for hurricane Harvey victims,
 “We will continue to be a distribution center to those in need. We are prepared to house people once shelters reach capacity. Lakewood will be a value to the community in the aftermath of this storm,”  he said.
